Conquerors conquer

The first time I came across Estelle's hit song conqueror was in some movie. It was the soundtrack at the end of the movie. Its addicted the movie, about the lady who is addicted and my Oh my she gets to star in this movie where she cheats on her husband with William Levy...yes yes...who hasn't done that in their dreams? Anyway I really enjoyed the movie and more so the sound track at the end caught my ear. I found it so befitting. The lady in this movie has just about given up, she had hit rock bottom in her addiction but as the happily ever after fantasies of movies would have it she checks in rehab and her ever so loving husband forgives her...THE END

Later when listening to this jam I was beyond touched by the lyrics of this song. Talk of lyrical prowess, beauty in words, the way they just felt right...I mean talk of GIRL POWER (that was irrelevant but hey I do incline towards feminism). I was lost for words...I mean absolutely speechless...I even shed tears!!!!

I was so deep in thought, remembering all the times when you did something that people didn't approve of, or the times when they laughed and said you can't do it. I believe that impossibilities and the I CAN'Ts of this world are simply just limitations that we have created for ourselves. Conquerors do amazing things. They CONQUER. That is how they actually got called that. In order to achieve something you must want it you must be willing to stand tall and be heard rather than live on your knees. Live off other people's expectation of you. Just for the record you don't conquer to prove those who said you can't no pretty you conquer so that you can believe in yourself more. If they said or did something to discourage you they might do it again...just a loud thought.

If you believe you can do it, go ahead try it. The worst that can happen is you succeeding or you discovering something else you can do that is better. So get up and go conquer something. Conquerors conquer the mind first and once you've conquered the mind then you have all it takes.
